Mila Kunis - Mosley Tribes Raynes Sunglasses - Photo Courtesy Warner Brothers
It’s nice to know that even in the post apolocolyptic world there are certainly luxuries we’ll still have – designer sunglasses clearly being one of them.
And that just makes it seem not so bad.
Want to sport the sunglasses worn by Mila Kunis in the Book of Eli in her role as Solara? Then you’ll want to pick up a pair of Mosley Tribes Raynes sunglasses (created by Oliver Peoples who make some of the finest sunglasses known to man… or woman as it may be in this case).
You can get ‘em on Amazon and get free shipping for about $235 or so.
Oh, and their unisex sunglasses, so fellas, if you’re so inclined, you don’t have to feel girly wearing them.

Gary Oldman Book of Eli Sunglasses - Sama Eyewear - Club S - Size 54 - Black - Photo Courtesy Warner Bros
I’m not sure I have anything clever to say about the presence of designer sunglasses in the future post apocolyptic world that I haven’t already said. So we’ll just talk about what the heck Gary Oldman is wearing, that work for you?
He’s sporting a pair of Sama Eyewear Club S – Size 54. Sama bills themselves as “Sama Eyewear is the world’s finest and most exclusive ultra-premium eyewear company.” You’d think that such a fine manufactuer of eyewear would have a website that resembled something usable, but alas that is asking too much. Fortunately, their Facebook page isn’t too bad to navigate.
By the way, he also wears Face a Face glasses in the movie in case you’re curious – I don’t know a lot about them other than they’re French.
Back to the Sama glasses, though. Want a pair? well, I wish I could tell you how – there’s no way to order anything from their website and I can’t find a single person carrying the Club S sunglasses online – if you find a place to get them, let me know, would ya?

Mary Shannon In Plain Sight Sunglasses - Kate Spade Barrie Aviator with Green Tinted Lenses - Photo Courtesy NBC Universal
It seems like you can’t have a show on USA Network unless your main character rocks a set of sweet shades.
In Plain Sight (a great show) is no exception to that rule. In it, you’ll find Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack) rockin’ a pair of Kate Spade Barrie Aviator Sunglasses.
If all you care about is the particular style, no problem, they’re easy to find and will only set you back about $100… however, if you want those exact sunglasses, good luck, the green tinted lenses have been discontinued and they’re an absolute pain to track down…
If you find a source to get them, please post in the comments and let us all know where we can get the Aviators with the green tinted lenses.
If you just want the style, Amazon’s got ‘em or you can get ‘em eBay easily (just be careful shopping on eBay and make sure it’s authentic).

Denzel Washington Book of Eli Sunglasses - Oakley Inmate Polished Chrome Frame with VR28 Black Iridium Lenses - Photo Courtesy Warner Bros
I haven’t quite made it to see Book of Eli yet, but I gotta admit the sunglasses worn by Denzel Washington are cool as hell. Put them on, shizam, instant bad ass!
While some sunglasses are crazy hard to identify, these aren’t too bad. While more subtle than most of they’re sunglasses, the O emblem on the side still gives away that these are Oakleys. Oakley Inmate sunglasses to be specific.
The ones worn by Denzel have the polished chrome frame, and black iridium lenses VR28 – code 05-631 if you want to be specific.
Keep in mind that while wearing the sunglasses may scream, “badass,” if you think you’ll complete the ensemble by carrying a book around, well, that’d just make you a tool – just stick to sunglasses unless it’s halloween, k?
You can get ‘em with free shipping from Amazon (free two day shipping if you have a Prime account)

While any “b” horror flick film buff is used to seeing Bruce Campbell kick ass and take names, it’s just not the same when it’s not zombies… ya know what I mean?
Anyway, sunglasses, that’s why you’re here right (if not, do tell)?

Sam Axe Sunglasses - Burn Notice - Persol 2833 Sunglasses with Havana frame and Brown Lenses - Photo courtesy NBC Universal
Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) sports a pair of Persol 2833 sunglasses. They’re They’re havana frames with brown lenses. The model is PO2833-S
Just like Fiona’s D&Gs, these are easy to get off the shelf provided you’re willing to pony up the the 175 bones or so. (yeah, I’m still bitter that Michael Westen sunglasses are custom made and almost impossible to find for less than $1,000 – I love sunglasses, but man, even I have my limits no matter how great Oliver Peoples sunglasses are).

Fiona Glenanne Sunglasses - Dolce & Gabbana 8018 - Burned Brown Frame with Brown Gradient Lens - Photo Courtesy NBC Universal
Proving that girls can kick ass too (and look great doing it), Fiona Glenanne isn’t your typical girl. Perhaps I just don’t know many girls, but I can’t really name any off the top of my head that frequently have automatic weapons in their trunk.
If it’s those stylish designer sunglasses you’re after, well, that I can help you out with. Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) wears Dolce & Gabbana 8018 sunglasses. They’re a burned brown frame with a brown gradient lens.
If you’d like to get yourself a pair of authentic 8018s, here’s a link to get them from Amazon (they’re the right color, I checked).

Oliver Peoples Size 55 Gold Victory Aviator Sunglasses with Cognac Lenses
“My name is Michael Westen, I used to be a spy…”
Yeah, you know it and love it – me too. Heck, I watch reruns of the reruns when new episodes aren’t on.
But let’s get down to brass tacks ‘n such. You’re here because you want to know what sunglasses Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) wears on the show, Burn Notice.
It’s not the easiest thing in the world to determine mostly because they’re not all that common… but fear not, after exhaustive research (as it turns out, interns are more useful than trained monkeys) we’ve figured it out.
However, that doesn’t mean you can get them, not quite. You see, Michael Westen sunglasses happen to be custom made. You can’t buy those exact frames… easily.
First, let’s cover what the heck they are.
They’re Oliver Peoples brand sunglasses and they’re size 55. The frame is “Victory” and it’s in gold. The lens color is Cognac.
So how do you get them? Well, I’ve heard of a couple people managing to convince the people at Oliver Peoples to let them do a custom order (after many, many phones calls and pestering), but I’ve heard from plenty of others that they’ll no longer let you do that since the size 55s have been discontinued by Oliver Peoples.
You can occasionally find them on eBay – about once every 60 days or so from what I’ve seen – but just make sure you take a deep breath and sit down before I tell you the price… expect to pay $1,000 or more for them. Yeah, they’re that rare. Now Oliver Peoples makes some really freakin’ sweet sunglasses, and the custom Michael Westen ones are top of the line, so you’re really only paying about a $600 premium for them, but still…
If close is close enough for you, here’s where you can get them (authentic) – remember these are size 58s, not 55s so they’re gonna be a little bit bigger. If you want the Real McCoy, keep an eye on eBay and you might get lucky and score yourself a pair.

I have a hard time finding sunglasses that fit my face. Most adult sunglasses are too large, particularly the eye pieces, while most childrens’ sunglasses have arms that are too short.

I have a pair of Ralph Lauren plastic resin frames..I had to replace a pair that broke and I need to pop out the fake lense that comes in them and put in my prescription lenses. The lenses were made for the same exact sunglasses, so they will fit. Does anyone know how I would do this safely without harming the frames? They dont budge at all when I try to push them out….

Lauren H asked:
If I bought a pair of designer sunglasses, could U bring them to an opticians and have lenses fitted? Or is this not possible as the lenses will be larger than regular glasses and tinted? How much does it cost? Has anyone here done this?
*could I bring them…
