How can I get my daughter to wear nicer sunglasses?

sunglasses
Laurel asked:

I’ve bought her designer sunglasses, namely Chanel, and she refuses to wear them. She insists on wearing cheap looking $10 sunglasses from Target! I want her to look nice and would like her to use ones that offer better protection from the sun than those cheap ones, but she refuses to wear the expensive ones that I wear and buy for her. Any suggestions?

your daughter wants to be her own person…. let her. try taking her somewhere and letting her pick out which sunglasses she likes

Take her other pair of sunglasses from her and either A. Hide them or B. Throw them away. She has to learn!

Yuck!! your annoying. Let your daughter be who she wants to be. maybe she hates the chanel glasses. Maybe they don’t look good on her. Who cares if she like the target ones better. Stop being so superficial!

She has her own tastes and sense of style.
    Leave her alone!
And cheap does NOT always mean less UV protection….

i always buy $10 glasses are really good cause i sometimes buy my glasses from there and believe it or not they are just as good as the “name brand one”….she will look nice in any type of glasses….just let her wear what she wants….that is a kind of insulting questions referring to some people…i think that the glasses from target are really nice….most of the time i think that designer glasses are not so nice…..your daughter has her own sense of style let her be who she wants to be and let her wear what she wants to wear…that is not a very good parenting skill…just because they are are not alot of money that does not mean that they are not good….never ask a wuestion like that AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m 12 years old and from personal expericiance I know that my mom trying to force what I should wear and what I shouldn’t gets really annoying! Even though personally I think it would be awesome to have a mom that bought me Chanel glasses, but everyone has differant taste and when someone trys to enflict what you should wear its really gets annoying. But atleast it seems that you have good style unlike my mom who wears mom jeans = jeans that come up over your belly button and are extemely dorky.

Maybe she is self-conscious about wearing something so expensive, especially because sunglasses are so easy to lose. Also, if her friends don’t have similarly expensive things, she might feel weird wearing something like that around them.

I would go ahead and let her wear the $10 ones now… she’ll appreciate the designer ones later.

Does it really matter? No one is really going to know, so just let her be happy.
